Labille-Guillard and two of her pupils (1785).

Based on similar gowns in collections worldwide, this pattern produces two popular styles of the 18th century: a dress à la polonaise as an open robe with petticoat (View A) and en fourreau as round gown with an apron front. Quick and easy to construct, the Robe à l’Anglaisecan take you from encampment to ballroom, depending on your choice of fabrics and trimmings. Included in each package is a small sleeve flounce pattern, not shown in illustration, plus diagrams with instructions for making a petticoat to be worn over hoops or a false rump.

One size per pack: US 8 (= Bust 34″ = 85 cm, Waist 26″ = 65 cm), 10 (B 36″ = 90 cm, W 28″ = 70 cm), 12 (B 38″ = 95 cm, W 30″ = 75 cm), 14 (B 40″ = 100 cm, W 32″ = 80 cm), 16 (B 42″ = 105 cm, W 34″ = 85 cm), 18 (B 44″ = 110 cm, W 36″ = 90 cm), 20 (B 46″ = 115 cm, W 38″ = 95 cm) oder 22 (B 38″ = 120 cm, W 40″ = 100 cm).
