This painting of a woman by Joachim Beukelaer (late 16th C.) shows a black Partlet and the high standing collar of the smock underdress.

The Elizabethan Lady’s Underpinnings package contains a wide range of undergarments suitable for use with the Elizabethan Lady’s Wardrobe patterns, or with any other Elizabethan Woman’s costumes. The patterns are based on extensive historical research. Working carefully from the best sources available, Margo Anderson has produced a set of undergarment patterns that are authentic, easy to put together for beginners, with authentic details for advanced sewers.

The package includes: Two styles of smocks, Partlet, corset with three style variations, Farthingale (hoop skirt) and bum roll.

In addition, the package comes with extensive instructions: a manual with 102 pages of fully illustrated text. This includes instruction in advanced sewing and costuming techniques, appendices, sizing and measuring charts, and a detailed bibliography.

All Sizes included US 2-30 (Bust 80-140 cm = 32-56″).
